RESULTS FROM THE SUMMER

Annual Summer Holidays Doubles Tournament (U10’s & U15’s) (Thursday, 5th August)

Text Box: 20 juniors competed in the tournament before most went on to compete in the Shiplake & Wargrave Regatta the following day.

Split into two groups:  Under 10’s and Under 15’s, each pair played 4 games against every other pair in their group and played some excellent tennis as well as having a lot of fun with their friends.

Well done to Ed Peters and Suilven Wagner-Piggott who eventually won the U10’s with Alex Andrews and Emily Goldsmith finishing a close second.  Meanwhile, a tie-break was required to decide the winners of the Under 15’s as Dylan Teasdale and Jamie Bull finished equal first with Jamie McAdam and Dom Ash after the round robin stage.  Jamie (M) and Dom then won the tie-break and prizes were presented to all the winners and runners-up and consolation prizes to all the other competitors.

REPORTS ON …………………..

Ø         Summer Friday Night Club Sessions: Sessions were well attended throughout the summer with plenty of ball machine drills, Texas tennis, and rallying with friends going on. The end of term was rounded off with a barbeque for almost 20 juniors. Look out for more fun and supervised club nights starting in April next year.

Ø        Summer Holiday Camps:  As always, very popular with all juniors and both sessions were over-subscribed. Tim and his assistant provided 3 days of drills, games and coordination exercises for 28 juniors. If you missed out this year, be sure to book early for next year’s camps.

Ø        Autumn Coaching: Our ever-popular autumn coaching sessions are in full swing on Saturday mornings with Tim Rose/Steve Cunnell and Monday afternoons with Sandra. If you are interested in Junior coaching always enquire early for possible vacancies. This term 51 juniors are attending.
