1st Club Session of the season (Monday 29th March)  It was great to welcome so many members, both new and those of longer-standing.  16 enjoyed the return of lighter evenings and some good tennis first and were joined by Many more for drinks and nibbles in the Bowls Club afterwards.

RACKET TESTING AND FASTEST SERVE COMPETITION (Wednesday, 28th April)  Thanks to Rackets Direct and Tony Speers for bringing along so many rackets for members to try out and well done to the following Fastest Serve winners:
Men:  Nigel Richardson (88 mph),  Ladies:  Marina Hart (66 mph),  Veterans:  Ian Ogden 62 mph,   Juniors:  Oli (aged 12) an amazing 72 mph.

Baskerville Arms Buffet Supper & Wimbledon Draw (Friday 14th May)  This popular event was again a sell-out and enjoyed by all who came.  It was a lovely warm evening and the pub provided an excellent buffet supper including Mediterranean Chicken Salad, tranches of scotch salmon and roast leg of lamb stuffed with apricot and walnut.  It was a great opportunity to socialise with tennis friends and see who was luck in the Wimbledon draw.

RETRO TENNIS EVENING (Wednesday 9th June)  18 players swapped their titanium rackets for wooden rackets during this club session and produced some amazing shots from all parts of the racket!  Admiring looks and compliments were also given to Fred Perry (alias Robin Hughes) and Chrissie Evert (alias Amanda Andrews) who definitely won the Best Dressed Players awards – however, no frilly knickers to be seen!
